Wings Over Wairarapa

The weekend of the 17th/18th January was the weekend of the "Wings Over Wairarapa" air show.

It is held in Masterton, about 100km away from Wellington and as it was a sunny day on the Sunday we decided to go. We packed the picnic into the 'chilli-bin', attached the fold up chairs and off we went, over the Rimutaka's hills to Masterton. An hour and a half and $70 (about £25) later and we were in the air show.

Unfortunately the star of the show, the re-built Spitfire, had a bit of an accident on Friday so it couldn't do the fly past and couldn't do the finale which was to be a re-enactment of the battle of Britain. None-the-less it was a good day and we spent a lot of time trying to video the various planes as they zoomed past.

I've been practising my video compilation skills and put this together. It's about 8 minutes long, helicopters are at the end!!!
