Time flies when your having fun!!

Doesn't it just.

The last couple of months have been a bit of a blur so now we can play catch up on the blog.
I recently joined a chat forum for ex-pats living in New Zealand and a few weekends ago we decided to go to Aotea Lagoon for a BBQ. After the roaring success of the chilli-bin at the airshow we packed it up with drinks, home made burgers, salad and water melon for dessert and headed off.

Aotea Lagoon is a man made lake (according to locals its a pond!) with a kiddys play area on one side, some formal gardens on the other, and a little ride on train that carries you around the site if you can't be bothered to walk. Sadly the train was not running when we were there.

Here are Adam, Fiona and Rich enjoying the sunshine.

Althought it was a beautifully sunny day there was hardly anyone at the lagoon and so we took over a bench and started cooking on the FREE gas powered BBQ

Here is me with Rhea, (Adams Better half) cooking the home made burgers.

I've cooked in worse places !

Sun hats and lots of sunscreen are a necessity over here
And when it gets too hot theres only one thing left to do..............

..............go for a paddle and cool off.

By late afternoon we headed for the cool shade of the surrounding palms.

And we finished the day with a spot of cloud gazing
